Bryan Cranston, will not be playing Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman though he will be starring in an interesting role. Cranston has signed on to play Dalton Trumbo, a real screen writer who was imprisoned after he refused to answer questions asked by Congress’ infamous House UnAmerican Activities Committee. Production starts around the same time as the Man of Steel sequel so it's very unlikely Cranston will be Lex though not impossible.

This week is a historic week for movies and TV. The world premiere of the first TV series that falls under the same cannon as an ongoing series of movies. And that show is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. So did you watch and what did you think if you did?

R rated animated film? I'll bite..
Sausage Party is a raunchy animated movie about one sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, our hero sausage and his new friends embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles before the 4th of July sale.
Aaaaannnnddd you've lost me. Even though it's a Rogan/Goldburg film.

So Dumb and Dumber To is really happening and this pic is proof.

Daniels looks really old if you ask me but whatever.

DC has greenlit a series based on Jim Gordon that will air on fox. Though it's not known if this will tie in at all to the Arrow or Flash series' it's doubtful that it will.

“After fifteen great years at Bungie, from the battlefields of Myth to the mysteries of Halo and beyond, I'm leaving to tackle new creative challenges. While this may come as a surprise, fear not. It's been my pleasure building Destiny these past four years, and after the big reveal this Summer, our hugely talented team is on track for greatness. I'll be cheering all of them, with all of you, when the game launches next year. Thank you for your support of me, and your continued support of Bungie. We couldn't have done it without you.”

Making The Magic Obtainable

There was a man, whose birthday  is today. He would of been 77 years old if he was still alive. Though he only lived a short 53 years, and died 9 days before my 5th birthday, he's left an indelible mark on my heart, mind, and soul. That man is Jim Henson. Jim is the name in puppeteering and has been for the past 50+ years. This is what Jim Henson means to me.
I grew up, like most people my age, on Sesame Street. I grew up watching a giant menagerie of diversity, engulfed in the magic of talking animals and acceptance. That was my introduction into puppets and puppeteering. Though I didn't realize how impactful Sesame Street would be in my life at the time, I did want to know how it all worked. My dad was the first to foster a love for the felt personas that inhabited my childhood by taping everything muppet related he could for me but my mom took it to the next level, buying me my first puppet.
I would sit with my puppet and make little sketches that I would perform in front of my brother to make him laugh. I emulate the master puppeteers on The Muppet Show, which was in syndication at that time. I would focus on weird voices, which all came out the same as a kid. Then something beyond horrible happened. I grew up.
At least I thought I was growing up. On retrospect, I was putting "childish" things to the side and focusing on becoming a teenager. I put my puppet fantasies on a shelf and got heavily into animation and comics. I would watch cartoons that seemed to deal with "adult" subject matter that I now realize was just as childish as the puppets I put away. I would catch shows that's siblings would watch, like bear in the big blue house and old episodes of fraggle rock but there was no magic there. I was extremely wrong. I was about 12 years old when I caught an old show starring Jim Henson, where he took apart his creations and really talked about them in great detail. In this hour long show I learned more about film making and puppeteering than the years at film school. Though I don't remember the name of the special, I do remember just about everything I learned.
My teenage years got significantly harder around age 14. My mom took my siblings and left me with my dad. To fill the void I picked up drama and starred in my middle school productions of Babes in Toyland and  Peter Pan. But occupying my time in theater wasn't enough so when I got to high school I got into pot and booze. The rest of my time in high school when I cleaned up a bit was spent with the drama geeks ( mostly the techies and stagehands) I finally found people who understood the technology of the arts I loved so much. People I could talk to about puppets and have real conversations with.
My dad unfortunately had a choice at this point. Either quit his job or move to Arizona. This was pretty much the beginning of the Internet the way it is now and I was able to devote time to researching everything from playing guitar to understanding YouTube. I rediscovered Jim and wondered why I hadn't thought about bring puppets back. I watched as much muppet based material as I could looking for any way to recreate the magic.
Since then, I've written more and stylized my writing a bit from what I saw from Jim. A lot of people think that because he showed the blueprints to the illusion, that he some how ruined the magic he created. I tend to think a different way. I believe that he made the magic obtainable. But what do I know? I'm just a big almost 30 year old who is very thankful to a man who passed away 23 years ago.

Let's talk about Miss America! With the recent crowning of Nina Davuluri, Miss America's first Indian American winner, and the controversy brought on by racism I have this question: does it really matter? Also while we're on the topic of race and flesh light fodder, when watching porn what is your racial preference?

Talk about the killing joke, some asshole took a pic of Justin Beiber with a Batsy vs Supes script. This is obviously a bad joke but it apparently made Instagram blow the fuck up.

Channing Tatum wants to play gambit because Taylor Kitsch didn't fuck the character up enough.

And in more casting news Colin Firth will be playing Paddington Bear in a new movie. Jack Black also has some casting news from his camp. Apparently Sony wants him for the lead in the Goosebumps movie. Which would team him back up with the same director that directed him in Shark Tale and Gulliver's Travels... Which were so successful he wrote in a sarcastic tone that is hard to convey if you're just reading it.

Finally in one more piece of casting news, we finally have our Barry Allen! Grant Gustin will fill the shoes of The Flash/Barry Allen. Gustin is known by Glee fans as Sebastian Smythe the antagonistic leader of rival show choir The Warblers.

So right of the heels of Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff, AMC has decided to commission another spinoff of one of their other hit shows. The Walking Dead will have a new spinoff show that will possible have bridging story lines with the current show but will also be a separate entity not tethered to the comics. Kind of like the video games.

Who didn't see this coming? The writer and one of the stars of Insidious and Insidious Chapter 2, Leigh Whannell, has announced that he will be writing chapter 3.

Andres Muschietti can't get the fuck away from movies that are synonyms for mothers. For those who don't know, this guy whose last name I probably butchered the fuck out of is the director behing Mama. His newest project is the reboot of The Mummy.

So Jake Sulley will go up against the T-1000 in Avatar 2. The ex governator is in talks to play the bad guy in The big budget sequel. Sorry I lied about the final casting news.

Because here's some more! Kelsey Grammer best known as Fraiser from the TV series of the same name has been added to the expendables 3. He did diddly squat as beast, are we expecting anything good from this?

Reasons to and not to buy a Wii U

Some of you might have read this before but I'm going to post it here as well because of the recent price drop and new bundle that includes Wind Waker HD remake.

Reasons not to buy a Wii U

5) the price isn't right. At $350 for the "deluxe" model, the console is a bit pricy.

4) the Wii U to Wii interface is strange and unwarranted. The 2 eshops do not communicate with each other and you have to go to the Wii channel to access those games be they downloaded or on disc.

3) I already own a 3DS and the Wii U is just a big DS... Seriously that's it.

2) the lack of real games be they DLC or on disc is disheartening . The games should be there but they aren't

1) The lack of actual dual screen drawing and video apps make the touch screen and camera useless unless the game supports said functionality.

Reasons to get a Wii U

5) the library is sure to be robust with at least decent games in the near future.

4) The games and apps though there are very little do dual screen right. Though it's mostly the same way the DS has done for years now, the Wii u does use the second screen idea better than any other video game console so far.

3)The friends list has finally been fixed making it very easy to find people without having to enter a credit card esque number. There is a chat feature as well as a video chat feature.

2)The Internet browser is the best on any console using the second screen means you can queue up a video while watching a video on a different site. And you can do all of this in the middle of a game. Basically making walk through videos a more viable resource for those having trouble in New Super Mario Bros U. Also probably really good for you perverts out there.

1) it's available now, has backwards compatibility, and can replace your TV remote. Not to mention all the above problems are fixable issues that probably will be fixed.

Hope this helps you make an informed decision.

So Disney in their divine wisdom have moved two big titles around. First, Ant-Man will now be a July 15th 2015 release instead of November of the same year. Second, Pirates 5 has been pushed from a 2015 release to 2016.

Hugh Jackman let it slip that he almost had a cameo in the first Spider-Man film, as Wolverine. The reason he didn't get it? The completely ridiculous excuse "they lost my costume" worst lie since "the ninja clan in The Wolverine was never going to be The Hand"

The producers of GI Joe 3 want to make sure no one watches the third movie by hiring the screen writers that worked on blockbusters like Snow White and The Huntsman.

Jurassic Park 4 has a title. And that title is Transformers: Age of Extinction... Oh wait no that's the totally sarcastically cool title for Transformers 4. How could I get these confused? Maybe because both will star animatronic dinosaurs. Though Jurassic Park 4 may have the worst title of the two with Jurassic World.

PS Vita TV was announced this week. No it isn't a new strain of herpes but a device that allows you to stream PS4 titles to any tv in your house connected to a PS Vita TV. It also plays Vita games on your TV. Is this a cash grab aimed at Sony fanboys or do you think this is a good idea?

Speaking of PS4, Japan, the biggest market for the console, will not receive it until 2014. Which probably does not bode well for Sony in the console race.

Apple has announced 2 new IPhones that will be available for preorder starting sept 13. The phone named the 5c and 5s are basically offshoots of the 5 model with various differences though, the 5c will cost $99 for the 16gig and $199 for the 32gig version.

Fucking Nintendo wants me to buy two new 3DSs with the release of limited edition Pokemon X & Y consoles. No jokes just pure frustration.

It saddens me to say that a concert documentary about a boy band is number one in the box office. So the topic this week for the movierama is: if either Backstreet Boys or N*Sync decided to do a box office documentary 15 years ago (1998) when they were popular, would it of gotten the top spot in the box office or was America not starved for box office content at that time?

From Pacific Rim to getting rim jobs, Charlie Hunnam will be the tortured millionaire son who brings sexual anarchy to a girl's life in the fifty shades of grey movie.

The mill is turning again. This time about Star Wars Episode VII: The Search For More Money. The British golden boy Benedict Cumberbatch is rumored to be starring in the next film in the franchise.

True Blood fans are screaming and crying blood because it has been announced that next season, season 7, will be the last.

Bryan Cranston says he so far has not been asked to do anything with the Batman/Superman film. Though there is still hope.

Dave Chappelle had a melt down in our back yard, Hartford. He was at a funny or die show and asked the crowd to be quiet before trying to change his act then walking off stage.
